Apple removes battery life time indicator from menu bar

OSX Mountain Lion has removed the ability to display the battery’s time remaining to either discharge, or charge. A minor feature to some, but to professionals working on a Macbook, this can prove invaluable. Having 20% battery life remaining does not mean much. Dropbox confirms security issue

A couple weeks ago, Dropbox started receiving emails from some of their users about spam being receiving at email addresses only used for Dropbox. Yesterday Dropbox announced it had confirmed a recent security issue with its service. After an internal investigation it was found that username and passwords stolen from other sites were the culprit. Furthermore, a stolen password was also used to access the account of a Dropbox employee containing a project document with user email addresses. Apple in their infinite greed has limited Mirroring, a key feature in their new OS X Mountain Lion update, to MacBook models made in mid 2011 or later. We see no practical reason for this other than to entice owners of older models to upgrade their hardware.
